Regarding how to install the Smart Wall Socket, we will finalize the installation of our Smart Wall Socket panel from three aspects such as the connection of the wires in the bottom box to the socket panel and finally the fixing of the socket panel. You can follow the steps below.
Here is the content list:
Distinguishing the colors of the wires in the base box.
Handling of the wires in the bottom box.
Installation of the wires to the Smart Wall Socket panel.
Fixing the panel.
Installation of the panel.
The first thing we need to do is to distinguish between the wires in the base box because we have to connect the Smart Wall Socket strictly to the fire, zero, and earth wires. As a rule, any of the colors of the wires in the bottom box, yellow, green, or red, is the firewire. The light blue is the zero wire and the yellow-green is the earth wire.
At this point, we have to cut the pre-wired wires in the bottom box neatly, and then cut and paste the insulation layer off the end of each wire. The general cut length is close to 10 mm. The purpose of cutting the insulation off is to make the connections to the Smart Wall Socket terminals.
This is where we insert the copper core of the wire with the insulation cut off into the terminals on the rear of the Smart Wall Socket panel. We plug the firewire into the terminal marked with the letter L, the zero wire into the terminal marked with the letter N, and the earth wire into the terminal marked with the ground symbol. Be sure to plug the wires into the bottom at this point. Afterward, use a Phillips screwdriver to tighten each screw in place to ensure that the wires are firmly fixed and that there is no wobble.
After we have finished installing the wires in the back of the Smart Wall Socket panel, it is time to fix the panel to the bottom box on the wall. When fixing we use the screw holes on the left and right sides of the wall bottom box, then the screw holes of the panel are aligned with the holes, and then the screws are used to fasten firmly. At this point, it is important to keep a tight fit with the wall. And adjust the level and verticality. The general requirement is that the error is no more than 5mm.
Finally, we fasten the Smart Wall Socket's surface cover plate directly onto it. The whole installation of the wall socket is completed by looking at the opening in the back of the panel and fastening it. Firstly, the wires in the bottom box should not be cut too much but should be left with enough spare capacity. This will enable us to replace the panel later. Secondly, when connecting the wires to the Smart Wall Socket terminals, the wires should not have too much-exposed copper. Try to do no copper core exposed, this is the most reasonable. Thirdly, each wire in the connection with the terminal block after completion, to avoid the wire itself under stress. Present a natural connection is the most reliable state. Fourthly, when installing, try to avoid using brute force to push and pull, which may cause the terminals to loosen, and may cause the wire insulation layer to break. The installation of socket panels on the wall is very simple, we just need to separate the wires, and then the wires and socket panel terminals are fixed firmly. Finally, after the wires are connected, the panel is fixed to the top of the base box and the installation is complete.
